The Moscow Kremlin Museums form a unique museum complex situated within the historical residence of the rulers of the Russian state. The complex of the Moscow Kremlin Museums includes the Armoury Chamber, the oldest Russian museum established by the decree of Alexander I on March 10, 1806. The Armoury Chamber houses ancient state regalia, royal ceremonial attire and coronation dresses, vestments of the hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church, the largest collection of gold and silver works by Russian craftsmen, including the world’s largest collection of imperial Easter eggs by Fabergé, Western European artistic silver, masterpieces of arms craftsmanship, a collection of carriages, and items of ceremonial horse attire.
