How to attract more visitors to a booth at an exhibition?
What do you think: is a bright, loud, attractive booth next door good or bad? Will it divert attention from you or, on the contrary, attract additional visitors?
They say the main currency of the 21st century is attention.
How do you attract attention specifically to your booth? We offer a few ideas on how to stand out among the bright and amazing participants of Presentica 2024. The exhibition will be held from September 19 to 21 at Gostiny Dvor, and it’s still not too late to book a booth here.
Tastings
Booths that offer treats to visitors are in a more favorable position. It’s completely logical and correct when food producers do this. This year at Presentica, honey, chocolate, gingerbread, cedar coffee, and chaga tea producers will be present. I’m sure there will be tastings everywhere. I will definitely stop by and try.
What if you offer something at “non-edible” booths where visitors need more time to appreciate the product? Linger with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine in front of art objects: paintings, antiques, complex items. These kinds of exhibitors will also be with us.
Bright Booth Design and Photo Zones Around
I already wrote earlier in this article about how well photo zones work, attract attention, and make people linger by your bright booths.
Content creation is also what visitors go for. Keep this in mind when preparing.
One of our participants last year created a beautiful photo zone with flowers, received an unexpected surge of interest, and has already booked a booth this year.
Another participant organized a relaxation area with their products — “soft pebbles.”
Many visitors wanted them for their homes or imagined how these stones would fit perfectly in their backyard.
Workshops and Interactive Activities
This is another surefire way to keep visitors at your booth, spark interest, and present yourself as experts.
Children especially love this, and every adult is a child at heart. Use this to your advantage, exhibitors.
Quizzes
Another form of interaction. Currently, quizzes are popular: host such a game with visitors on the topic of your booth. Reward the smartest with product discounts (actually, give discounts to all participants, of course).
Lotteries
I read an amusing story about a marketer who came up with the idea of having a wheel of fortune on a website. Initially, the directors and serious people resisted, thinking, “Our clients are rational people; this won’t appeal to them!” How wrong they were! I think we all now spin the cashback category wheel in banking apps.
We are indeed rational people but we love miracles, surprises, and, let’s be honest, freebies as well. Hold raffles for various discount denominations, gifts, branded souvenirs. Let all exhibition visitors leave happy, with a belief in miracles.
Modern Technologies
Augmented reality, robots, and even screens with catchy, unusual presentations attract attention. Take the visitor through history, telling a story.
Here’s an example from our exhibitor ART-VIA from St. Petersburg:
“Inspired by the introduction of A.S. Pushkin’s poem ‘Ruslan and Lyudmila,’ we designed a collection with animated characters on porcelain. Pointing a smartphone at the plate, the learned cat will tell you a tale, Baba Yaga will appear from the hut, the beautiful mermaid will return to the sea, and 30 knights will emerge from the turbulent waters.”
Announcements and Mailings
I talk about how to attract visitors, but you can also invite your clients to the exhibition. And you definitely should! I’m sure your Moscow subscribers would love to see in person the full range they have only admired on social media. Do not forget to inform your followers on social media and send a mailing to clients: “If you are in Moscow now, come visit us at booth such and such, we will show and tell you everything personally!”
Why am I writing all this? The Presentica exhibition is a small celebration for visitors, as it happens every year. It’s fun, bright, and delicious. We combine International Women’s Day, New Year, and Ivan Kupala Day all in one place, right in the heart of Moscow. It’s that fair where people come not only for shopping but also for the mood. Come — show yourself and see others.
